The head of HR from the India office of Mitsuba was rushed to hospital last week after being shot by an employee who had been sacked from the Japanese-owned company.

According to The Times of India, the day before the attack the HR boss, Binesh Sharma, had sacked an employee over his ‘unprofessional behaviour’.

The employee, along with an accomplice, attacked Sharma as he drove to work. He suffered two gunshot injuries and was taken to hospital but is now out of danger.

A police officer told The Times the employee had threatened Sharma of dire consequences, but the HR head did not take his warning seriously.
